A Short Thought On The “Prosperity Gospel”
Have you ever noticed that the Payday Loans and Cash Advance establishments are always in the less fortunate part of town? See how they prey upon those that are desperate?
Have you ever noticed how the prosperity preachers always thrive among the less fortunate? See how they prey upon those that are desperate? The manner of thieves doesn’t change. They take advantage of the weak, sickly, and disadvantaged.
They promise you health when you are dying of a disease. They promise you wealth when you can’t feed your family. They get rich on those that are already bankrupt in numerous ways.
Joel Osteen promises you wealth and success if you only confess “I am”. Benny Hinn promises you health if you only have “enough faith” to be healed. Both are deceivers getting rich on the backs of the downtrodden. These two are only the poster children for the numerous deceivers of our day. None of this has anything to do with the gospel of eternal salvation.
2 Peter 2:1-3 KJV
[1] But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. [2] And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. [3] And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
